Hi! I'm Melissa, the owner of Lilac Creative - a company that's a bit two-fold in it's purpose. First, I proofread transcripts for court reporters. Second, I help small businesses with marketing and graphic design.
I spent over 14 years working in the marketing field in the education market and the ag market. In that time, I handled proofing marketing materials - everything from brochures and flyers to catalogs and websites. I realized not only am I great at finding mistakes, but I also have a passion for it. I've always enjoyed conducting research; many of my friends turn to me whenever they need something researched. This interest ultimately led me to train to become a transcript proofreader through the Proofreading Business Coach's Transcript Proofreading Academy, and I haven't looked back!
I freelance full-time, which allows me to make you my priority! I’m a perfectionist and have a keen eye for detail. I love reading, music, true crime, traveling, and having my hands in the dirt. I've got two furbaby cats named Moki and Rocco (but we call them Bear and Buddy) who love to "help" me proofread and couldn't be happier that I spend most of my days at home!

Here’s the simple process:
- Email me your PDF transcript file.
- Share the specifics on when you need it back and any preferences you have. If you need a preferences form, just let me know.
- I proof to your preferences and email you the file back in your requested time frame!

Upcharges:
Technical Transcript: +10¢ per page
Spot Checking to Audio: +15¢ per page
Messy Transcript: +10¢ per page
Transcripts that require a substantial amount of work (usually they have not been scoped or spellchecked).
Payment methods accepted: Check, Visa, MasterCard, ACH, PayPal, Venmo.
Invoices are due within 15 days.
Invoices for first-time clients will be due upon receipt and no future work will be completed until invoice has been paid.
